As we reported earlier, the 2018 Champions League final was held in Kyiv. That year the Spanish Real Madrid won the English Liverpool with a score of 3:1.

On August 19, Dynamo Kyiv hosted Brugge KV; it was a return leg in the Qualification Round 3 fixture. The game was played at NSC Olimpiysky in Kyiv.

Thus, Dynamo played an unbelievable 3-3 draw with Brugge; however, it still lost on the aggregate (4-3), as Brugge won the home game (1-0). Belgians proceed to the next stage of the competition, while Kyivites were out of the UEFA Championship League.
