Dynamo Kyiv and Ferencvaros played their last game of UEFA Champions League group stage. The Ukrainian capital hosted the match on December 8.
Hungarians needed a victory to make it to Europa League, and Kyivites were fine with a draw. The guests took control over the ball and tried creating some opportunities to attack and open the score. However, Dynamo were calm and confident, showing skillful and reliable defense.
In the second half, the home team managed to score from a free kick. Denys Popov opened the score with a header, after Carlos De Pena's lob pass. The guests tried evening the odds, but could not create any situation dangerous enough for the opponents.
After six rounds of UEFA Champions League, Dynamo came third in its group. Thus, Lucescu's squad is now to perform in the Europa League.
