Borussia Munchengladbach came to NSC Olimpiysky stadium in Kyiv to face Shakhtar Donetsk.
In spite of the first place in its group of UEFA Champions League, Shakhtar were considered the underdogs in the fixture with Germans. So the guests began to show their supremacy instantly, scoring three goals in early first half and another one before the half-time.
In the second half, Luis Castro attempted to get his team's act together, but the oppopnents defended well and took the ball from Shakhtar all the time. And so, active pressing allowed Borussia to score two more goals.
The 6-0 loss became the most devastating home defeat in the Ukrainian team's history. Last time Shakhtar lost the same number of goals was in the game with Manchester City in 2018.
