Dynamo says goodbye to UEFA Champions League - again. Ajax won the first leg in this fixture and the second ended in a 0-0 draw, which means that the Dutch carry on in the Champions League. The Ukrainian team, on the other hand, left the tournament and moved on to the group stage of UEFA Europa League.
It was only the early first half that the home team had a decent chance to score. But Ajax's goalkeeper Andre Onana did just enough to prevent the goal. And then, there was nothing but domination of the guests on the pitch.
At certain points, it seemed like fortune turned its face to Dynamo, with ajax failing to score a penalty kick in the first half. Dušan Tadić hit the post, and the score remained 0-0; later, in the second half, the ball hit Dynamo's post again.
Denys Boiko, Dynamo's goalkeeper also showed some decent skills, doing enough to keep the guests from scoring; specifically, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Noussair Mazraoui failed to pierce his guard.
In the end, none of the teams managed to score, which still was fine with the Dutch team, as they won 1-3 on the aggregate.
Dynamo will get to know the name of their opponent in UEFA Europa League on August 31.
