The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the Association of European Clubs (ECA) have set a deadline for completion of national championships: they are supposed to be finished by July 31. This decision was made during a video conference.
UEFA hopes that if it is possible to finish the championships by the end of July, the Euro Cup matches will take place in August. The Champions League and the Europa League are currently stopped at the stage of the 1/8 finals.
Predictably, Euro Cup matches will traditionally take place in the middle of the week, and the stages may consist of one match.
As we reported earlier, UEFA is expected to present its plans for the Champions League, played from August 7-31 with a game every three days until the Final on August 29.
The most likely option will see the second leg fixtures left over from the Champions League Round of 16, which include Juventus-Lyon and Barcelona-Napoli, on August 7-8.
The semi-finals would be on August 18-19, 21-22, then the Final in Istanbul on August 29.
