Union of European Football Associations regards Andriy Yarmolenko one of the stars of the European Championship Euro-2016, it is reported on UEFA official website.
Yarmolenko is the real leader of Ukrainian national football team and a worthy successor of Andriy Shevchenko.
“At the age of 13 Andriy Yarmolenko entered “Dynamo” academy but was shortly expelled because, according to the coaches, he wasn’t good enough, but later he was invited to play for Kyiv football team. In 2012 and 2014 he was named best football player of Ukraine. He is regarded by many a worthy successor of Andriy Shevchenko”, - it is said in UEFA report.
Andriy Yarmolenko, together with Yevhen Konoplyanka, is considered the leader of Ukrainian national football team.
