Ukrainian Alla Cherkasova made it to the semifinals in the wrestling competition of Tokyo Olympics (the weight cateroy of up to 68 kg)

According to iSport.ua, the 2018 world champion successfully outmatched Agnieszka Wieszczek, the bronze holder of Summer Olympics 2008 and the four-time prize winner of European championships. The fixture ended with the score 11-0.

Previously, Cherkasova defeated current bozne holder of the world championship, German Anna Karmen Schell (6:0). 

The semifinal round is about to take place on August 2. The Ukrainian will face the world champion, America's Tamyra Mensah-Stock.

Earlier, Ukrainian Mykhailo Romanchuk claimed the first silver for Ukraine in this Olympics. Meanwhile, his wife Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk qualified for the final round of the triple jump competition.

Currently, the Olympic team of Ukraine holds five bronze awards and one silver.
