Tennis: Svitolina beats Yastremska and enters 1/8 finals of US Open

Ukrainian tennis players Elina Svitolina and Dayana Yastremska played the match of the third round of the US Open women's tournament.

The fifth racket of the world, Svitolina did not give her young opponent a slightest chance. If in the first set, Yastremska managed to win at least two games, then in the second set, Svitolina did not give her a single game. In the 1/8 finals, Svitolina will meet with Madison Keys, the world's No.10.

Earlier, Dayana Yastremska won the WTA final in Strasbourg, where her opponent was French Caroline Garcia.

Yastremska started the match badly, losing the first two innings. But then she managed to level the score, and then to go ahead, bringing the set to the end. Ukrainian could decide the fate of the match in the second set, she even led in the score 5:3, but allowed the French player to win 4 games in a row and level the score.
 
In the third set, the rivals both showed strong play, but no one could break through. In the end, the winner was determined in a tiebreak, where Yastremska started nervously, but eventually she managed to win 7:3.
