Ukraine's top tennis player Elina Svitolina played her second fixture in the Internazionali BNL d'Italia hosted in Rome.
Svitolina went toe-to-toe with Garbiñe Muguruza. The Ukrainian put up a good start but then allowed the Spaniard to cut the point spread. However, Elina regained her confidence and took the game under control.
In the quarterfinal, the Ukrainian will stand against Polish athlete Iga Świątek.
Prior to that, Svitolina met with American Amanda Anisimova. The U.S. athlete managed to win the first set (2:6), but Svitolina got her act together and made the odds even in the second (6:3). In the third set, the two-time winner of WTA tournament in Rome triumphed and defeated her opponent (6:4).
