22-year-old Ukrainian basketball player Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk played as a part of Detroit Pistons’ main line-up against Boston Celtic (103:116).
'Svi' has set a new personal record in the NBA, scoring 21 points (6/9 from the game, 5/8 three-pointers), 5 assists and 1 rebound in 29 minutes on the court, as well as scoring a "buzzer" from the middle of the field at the end of the third quarter.
His previous record was set in regular-season match against Cleveland Cavaliers, when he brought Detroit 15 points, made two rebounds and executed one pass.
"Mykhailiuk is excellent. He is a good learner, he works hard. Each time he throws there is a feeling that the ball will hit the rim. Mykhailiuk plays confidently, does a good job. He is an additional weapon for our team," Blake Griffin, the leader of Detroit Pistons, commented on his partner's game.
As we reported earlier, Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk spent 22 minutes on the basketball court during the match against Orlando Magic. He was able to score 12 points (4/8 three-pointers), making 2 rebounds and 1 interception. This match was the most successful for Mykhailiuk in this season.
Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk has been playing in the USA since 2014. He made his NBA debut with the Lakers in 2018 but moved to Detroit last winter.
