Ukraine collected its second silver award in the final fixture of Greco-Roman wrestling competition during the ongoing Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Ukrainian Parviz Nasibov went toe-to-toe with Mohammad Reza Gerai from Iran (weight category of up to 67 kilograms). The Irainan proved stronger and more confident, beating the opponent (9:1). Thus, Nasibov took his first Olympic medal, and the second silver for his country in these Games.
Another Ukrainian wrestler Zhan Belenyuk is going to fight for gold in the final fixture in his category (up to 87 kg).
Now, Ukraine's Olympic team holds two silver and six bronze medals.
Earlier, Ukraine's wrestler Alla Cherkasova won the Olympic bronze in her weight category of up to 68 kilograms.
The Ukrainian went toe-to-toe with Sara Dosa from Japan who claimed the gold of Summer Olympics 2016. Cherkasova pinned Dosa to the mat. Later, she lost to Tamyra Mensah-Stock, the incumbent world champion.
