Zhan Beleniuk wins Olympic gold in Tokyo

Zhan Beleniuk made the fans in Ukraine and abroad as happy as they could possibly be, collecting the first gold in these Olympic Games for his team and country. He triumphed in the Greco-Roman wrestling competition (weight category of up to 87 kilograms).

In the final fixture, Beleniuk faced Viktor Lorincz from Hungary. He defeated his opponent in a confident manner (5:1), claiming first gold medal for Ukraine's Olympic team. 

Currently, Ukraine holds nine Olympic medals scored in Tokyo; one gold, two silver and six bronze awards.

Just recently, Ukraine collected its second silver award in the final fixture of Greco-Roman wrestling competition during the ongoing Summer Olympics in Tokyo

Ukrainian Parviz Nasibov went toe-to-toe with Mohammad Reza Gerai from Iran (weight category of up to 67 kilograms). The Irainan proved stronger and more confident, beating the opponent (9:1). Thus, Nasibov took his first Olympic medal, and the second silver for his country in these Games.
