Manager of Shakhtar Donetsk Luis Castro commented on the loss to Borussia Monchengladbach in the game of UEFA Chamnpions League on November 3. The website of the Ukrainian team reported that on Wednesday.
"We felt completely humiliated during the game. If we take a look at the first half, we didn't even get a single foul. Not enough aggression, a lack of everything... we could not even take the ball, and we were totally impotent in our defense actions. The opponent got wherever they wanted to, opened all zones, and conducted successful attacks. Basically, as we expected, there were a lot of passes on the depth, and many lobs from flanks. Nevertheless, we could not break any of it, and could not show our game in the attack. There was no stability in this. The first goal wounded us mentally, and the second had us drowned completely. After that, the team gave it up", Castro said.
"It hurts because the loss took place as something quite unexpected. Basically, it was the same line-up that played againmst Real and showed its best in the attack and the defense alike. It's practically the same line-up that played with Inter, we proved ourselves strong in the defense. When things like this one take place, it leaves a horrible, dirty spot on our team. But football taught me one thing: if bad things occur so out of the blue, then the good stuff could take place just as suddenly as that. We'll get back to the level we used to play on. Yes, tonight the team is upset by the result; but anyway, one has to look forward, fix things and become better", Shakhtar's manager said.
