Ukraine claimed its first medals of 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio last night.
Sergiy Kulish won silver in the 10 meters air rifle shooting event at the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio; he scored 204,6 points, only losing to Italian Niccolo Kampariani (206.1).
Renowned Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan got bronze in the individual saber fencing competition. She outmatched her French opponent Manon Brunet (15:10). The gold went to Russia’s Yana Yegoryan.
Archer Viktor Ruban lost in the round of the last 32 in the individual archery event.
Viktoriya Us made it to the semifinals of the whitewater event.
Maksym Dolgov and Olexandr Horshkovozov came sixth in the 10 m synchronized diving event.
Today, it’s up to Ukrainian female athletes; specifically, Ukrainian women will perform in 25 meters air pistol shooting (Qualification Round), tennis (Singles, Round 3) and archery (Singles, Round of Last 64).
