On Friday, Ukraine will be represented in six events. Mykyta Nesterenko will perform in discus throwing; Alina Fedorova will participate in the pentathlon event; Olga Holodna is to perform in the qualifying round of the shot-put event. Besides, the three of Ukrainian athletes – Ruslan Dmytrenko, Igor Hlavan and Nazar Kovalenko – will compete for medals in the 20-km walking event.

Oleg Tsar’kov is to compete in the 10 m air rifle shooting event, and Roman Bondarchuk will perform in the 25 m rapid pistol shooting.

Ukrainian judoka Yacob Hammo passed on to the 1/8 finals of the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio.

Ukrainian Tetyana Kob made it to the boxing quarterfinals of the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio. Tetyana Kob, acting in the weight category up to 51 kg, won Stanimira Petrova from Bulgaria with a score of 2:1 (39:37, 37:39, 39:37) in the 1/8 final match. n the quarterfinals Kob will meet with Briton Nicola Adams. This meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 16, at 17:00 p.m. Kyiv time.

Note that Tetyana Kob is the first female boxer in the history of Ukraine at the Olympics.
