The hockey game between the national teams of Ukraine and Poland was viewed by over 8 million TV viewers. Georgiy Zubko, the vice president of Ukraine’s Federation of Hockey said that at a press conference, dedicated to the ongoing IIHF World Championship in Kyiv, Division I, Group A (IIHF - International Ice Hockey Federation, - 112 International).
‘On game day 1, about 10,000 fans came to watch the games directly at stadiums. During the opener, where Ukraine stood against Hungary, stands were full on 80 percent of the stadium’s total capacity. TV viewers ratings are high as well; over 7 million people watched the Ukraine-Hungary fixture on TV, and about 8 million watched the game between Ukraine and Poland,’ Zubko said.
The championship kicked off in Kyiv on April 22 and will be running until April 28.
