Russia’s women's track and field athletics team was disqualified and deprived of a silver medal for 4x400 metres relay of the Olymic Games 2012.

This was decided by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) after the doping retest of the athletes. A prohibited drug was found during the doping retest of one of Russia’s team members Antonina Krivoshapka.

Because of this discovery, all the athletes of the team will lose “silver”. IOC has officially announced that Russian athletes have to return their medals.
