Ukrainian Association of Football confirmed the appointment of Oleksandr Petrakov as Acting Coach of Ukraine's national football team. Press office of the Association reported that on August 18.
Petrakov will be working with the Yellow Blues until Serhiy Rebrov is available and becomes the full-time head coach; currently, he is coaching the Al Ain FC from the UAE.
Oleksandr Petrakov is going to prepare the national team for the matches against Kazakhstan and France; they are Ukraine's rivals in the qualification group of FIFA World Cup 2022.
Earlier, we reported that Monaco hosted the first leg of the UEFA Champions League qualification playoffs; Shakhtar Donetsk stood against AS Monaco.
Both rivals put up a decent fight on the pitch; a number of opportunities were created to open the score. However, it was up to the guest team to make it 0-1. Pedrinho played a combination with Manor Solomon and sent the ball into the net.
A couple of moments followed from the both sides, but goalkeepers stood their ground, and the score remained as it was. In the second half, Monaco once again closed in for a goal, but the ball hit the post.
The return leg of the fixture will take place in Kyiv next week.
