Oleg Blokhin, the former forward and the ex-coach of Dynamo Kyiv, the former manager of Ukraine's national football team got himself a new office. The Federation of Football of Ukraine (FFU) assigned him as the head of the Strategic Development Council. The press office of the Federation of Football reported that on December 28.
'Frankly, it is a very honorable, and also quite a responsible mission to me. In my opinion, my knowledge and experience can be of use for Ukrainian football. I see the will of the current management of the FFU to reform the football establishment in Ukraine, and I'm ready to help. This is why I'm grateful to the members of the Executive Board of the FFU who upheld my appointment', Blokhin said.
The owner of 1975 Ballon d'Or, Blokhin admitted that he decided to try his luck in the strategic planning area for now, while his manager's career is 'going south', as he put it. 'After some time, I'll be able to tell what's more difficult, being a coach or a football official', he said.
During the same session of the Federation of Football's Executive Board, the officials chose NSC Olimpiysky arena in Kyiv as the venue for Ukraine-Portugal fixture of UEFA Nations League. The game is to take place in October 2019.
