Number of road accidents grew due to snowfall in Kyiv region

The police of Kyiv and Kyiv region report an increased number of road accidents because of the snowfall that began on late Friday. It continued on Saturday morning and caused inconveniences with the road traffic.

According to Google Maps, the situation on Kyiv's roads is complicated, too. Almost no traffic jams are observed, but a lot of road accident sites make it more difficult to drive.  

As we reported, the snow covered the capital of Ukraine on the first day of winter. Kyitives  actively shared pictures on their pages in social networks.  

According to the State Agency of Roadways of Ukraine, 358 units of specialized equipment, as well as the crews of hand cleaning are removing snow from the roads in Kyiv. They add salt on the roads in order to prevent the icing and packed snow. The weather forecasters say it will be snowing until the end of the day. The drivers are asked not to leave their cars on roadsides, so that the snow vehicles could easily remove the snow.

Boryspil International Airport press service warned that there flight delays are possible because of the snowy weather. The representatives claimed that the apron and the airstrips are being cleaned, and anti-icing treatment of the aircraft is performed.
