Saytama (Japan) hosted the final of the WBSS, World Boxing Super Series. Japanese Naoya Inoue went toe-to-toe with Filipino fighter Nonito Donaire (bantamweight).

Inoue looked more confident and landed more accurate and powerful strikes over the entire fight. However, Donaire managed to put up quite a fight and shook his opponent; Inoue was hit in the eye in the middle of the bout and had to continue with blood on his face. Eventually, the Japanese knocked the opponent down with a body punch; Donaire stood up and managed to finish the fight.

Initially, the World Boxing Super Series was held in the heavyweight division, where Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk claimed victory. Then, British Callum Smith won the contest in the super middleweight.
