Alex Ferguson needs a period of intensive care to optimize his recovery

Alex Ferguson, a legendary football coach, was taken to the hospital in a critical condition with a cerebral hemorrhage and was operated, as The New York Times reported.

His son Darren Ferguson, the manager of League One club Doncaster Rovers, missed the last game of the team and went to visit his father.

“The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to optimize his recovery,” the official statement of Manchester United says.

Ferguson has been coaching Manchester United for 27 years (1986-2013) and won 38 trophies, including 13 championships in England and two Champions League.

Earlier, Manchester United relented in a game with Brighton with a score 1:0.
