IBF lightweight world champion Teofimo Lopez Jr. (15-0, 22 KOs) stated that he was not willing to fight in empty arenas during the COVID-19 pandemic, ESPN reports.

Lopez's promoter Bob Arum is now looking for an opportunity to "revive" boxing by scheduling events in Florida, which allowed holding wrestling events without spectators.

However, the American titlist is not buying into these plans.

"I know Bob Arum wants to put on fights in June, July and August, but I do not want to fight without fans," Lopez told ESPN's Ahora o Nunca on Wednesday. "I am not going to fight Lomachenko or anyone without fans," Lopez said.

He also stated that the bout against Loma would be his last one at 135 pounds.

As we reported earlier, Vasyl Lomachenko has no faith in the potential bout against fellow lightweight champion Gervonta Davis.

Right now, I do not think he is going to fight me. He might want to fight me, but his promoters are not going to let him,” WBA, WBC, WBO and The Ring lightweight champion noted.
