Manager Egis Klimas who deals with the cases of Vasyl Lomachenko and Oleksandr Gvozdyk told about the fight of the latter with Doudou Ngumbu and preparations to the fight with Anthony Crolla, as BoxingTalk reported.
“Unfortunately we haven’t seen that much. That guy did not let Gvozdyk to show himself on the ring. He was very uncomfortable. Not like a boxer. Some disco dancer. When Gvozdyk realized what should he do with this guy, when he tried harder, Ngumbu left the fight and said he had trauma. I don’t know for sure, maybe that is true. Or he was pretending. To be honest I haven’t heard from him.
I even revised that episode, but I didn’t see anything. He fell down out of the blue. I assume that he was done, he didn’t want to continue the fight. Victory is a victory. And everything else does not matter. Here is the thing. Certainly, it would be better if the opponent wanted to fight, but we won. So, what disappointment we are talking about?
Lomachenko is doing great. He is in his best shape. He is strong both physically and mentally. I watched his preparations yesterday. He is at his peak. Vasya is working hard as usual. He is preparing for any fight as always. He is so strong mentally that the name of his opponent was never a problem for him. Maybe, he is mentally stronger than physically. He is ready as if he is about to fight with Floyd Mayweather,” he told.
