Ex-world champion in super-featherweight division American Gervonta Davis commented on a potential duel with Ukrainian lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko in a quite defiant style, Segodnya reports.
“Lomachenko? His time is coming to an end, but mine is not,” Gervonta said.
“I believe that our fight will take place, but at the right time. No offense. I respect his achievements, but I do not respect the fact that he is being extolled. He has achieved nothing in this world. He has fourteen fights and he is already a franchised champion,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Davis is scheduled to fight Yuriorkis Gamboa in his lightweight division debut. “If I cannot get anyone at 135lbs or if I win a belt, and there is a big opportunity to fight with someone at 130lbs, I would do that," Davis added.
As we reported earlier, WBA Super World Super Featherweight Champion Leo Santa Cruz shared his opinion on a potential fight against Vasyl Lomachenko, XSPORT informed.
“When Lomachenko was at 126, 130, I said hopefully one day I could fight him, because he is a great fighter and I would like to get in the ring with him”, Santa Cruz stated.
