WBC, WBA, and WBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko talked on his future rival Teofimo Lopez, who he is expected to fight against in mid-April 2020.
Lomachenko was not able to “gather” extra information from Lopez’s previous bout against Richard Commey.
“To be honest, I did not have enough time to fully understand what happened, but in the two rounds that I saw I got the feeling that Lopez has flaws and problems in defense, so in one round, in the first round, he managed to take so many of Commey’s punches, and many of those did not need to be taken,” Vasyl emphasized.
Ukrainian champion believes it was a lucky punch that brought Lopez a victory on December 14.
“I think that if it had not been from that lucky punch - because I call it a lucky punch for him – then we would have seen plenty of interesting things in the course of that fight," Loma added.
However, Vasyl admits that he was eagerring to fight Lopez in his unification bout.
As we reported earlier, Newly crowned IBF champion in the lightweight division Teofimo Lopez told that unification bout against Vasyl Lomachenko is expected to take place in the middle of April, Boxing News 24 informed.
According to Lopez, negotiations are being held and there are two potential dates – April 11/18 2020. Teofimo wants the bout to take place in New York.
