As we reported earlier, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk made a successful debut in the heavyweight division. His rival was American Chazz Witherspoon, who stepped up on short notice after the bout with Tyrone Spong had been canceled.

At the beginning of the fight, fighters were feeling each other out, working a lot at the long distance. Usyk displayed good footwork, Witherspoon kept his distance diligently. But as the fight was progressing, American started to absorb a lot of punches.

In the fifth round, Usyk pushed the pace, executed several excellent shots to the opponent's head, but he was able to stay on his feet. The following rounds were dictated by Usyk, who was putting a beating on his opponent.

As a result, after the seventh round, Witherspoon's corner decided to stop the beating and refused to continue the fight.
