In his recent interview to Top Rank, WBA, WBC, WBO and The Ring lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko opened up on his plans for the future, recent delay of the bout against Teofimo Lopez and potential opponents.
The Ukrainian boxer understands the severity of the current situation in the world, which led to his unification bout against Lopez being postponed.
“Of course, I was disappointed a little bit, but everything that is happening is happening for the better. The most important thing is for all the people on this planet to get back and get health and everything will go back to normal,” Loma stated.
Speaking on the bout against fellow lightweight champion, Vasyl believes that Lopez’s initial idea “to be a bully” inside the ring will only benefit him.
“It will make it easier. It will make my task easier. The most interesting thing for me will be to look into his eyes and his father’s eyes and see their reaction,” the unified champion said.
The Ukrainian boxer was once again asked about potential bout against Gervonta Davis. However, Lomachenko has no faith in it.
“Right now, I do not think he is going to fight me. He might want to fight me, but his promoters are not going to let him,” Vasyl added.
As we reported earlier, Jorge Linares, former WBA and The Ring lightweight champion, is willing to avenge his loss to Vasyl Lomachenko.
After making a successful comeback to 135-pound weight division, the Venezuelan boxer believes that another chance at beating Loma will eventually come.
