The World Boxing Council (WBC) reported that the fight between Vasyl Lomachenko and Luke Campbell is to be held in Great Britain on August 31.
The teams of both boxers managed to come to terms and hold the bout in England. Currently, it remains unknown which city would host the event; previously, it was supposed to be London.
Eddie Hearn, Campbell's promoter said the fight could be moved somewhere else, beyond the UK, as there were issues with the TV broadcasting. The bout could take place in the U.S., but the sides eventually agreed on the UK.
Earlier, World Boxing Council (WBC) appointed contenders for the belt of world champion in lightweight which Miguel Garcia left. Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko and English Luke Campbell would fight for the title.
The fight will be held in August-September. Campbell’s promoter wants to organize the fight in Halle, a native town for Campbell, at KC Stadium, which accommodates thousands of fans.
