Kyiv is looking forward to the WBC Congress, and the preparations are in full swing. 'The city becomes a boxing capital,' mayor and former WBC heavyweight champion of the world Vitali Klitschko said while describing this situation.
Klitschko and WBC President Mauricio Suleyman met in Kyiv during the press conference dedicated to the event, which the Ukrainian city will soon host. 'In May this year, me and (...) Suleyman signed the symbolic contract for hosting the 56th WBC Congress in Kyiv. We signed it on the boxing gloves. Not much time left before this important event', Klitschko said.
Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Eric Morales, Oleksandr Usyk and many others will join the WBC Congress in Kyiv; the boxing legends already confirmed their part. The Ukrainian capital will welcome 7000 participants in the Congress, coming from 160 countries. That includes the incumbent champions, legendary retired fighters, presidents of national WBC federations, referees, sports managers, and officials. Besides, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital and his one-time legendary opponent Lennox Lewis announced 'a little surprise' for local boxing fans.
'Lennox is ready; so am I', Klitschko said.
