Kyiv city hall intends to postpone the next year’s celebration of Kyiv Day, which is marked annually on the last Sunday in May. Thus, football fans would be able to enjoy the final game of UEFA Champions League that the Ukrainian capital will host in May 2018. This was mentioned in the letter of Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, which he sent to President of the country’s Federation of Football Andriy Pavelko.
‘We’re going to adjust the celebration of the Kyiv Day. From May 20 through May 26, the city hall will not allow any licenses for any official events in Kyiv,’ reads Klitschko’s letter.
The final game of UEFA Champions League is supposed to take place on Sunday, May 26, 2018; the venue will be the Olimpiysky National Sport Complex. The city hall offers to hold the Kyiv Day main events in the afternoon of May 27.
