“If Usyk’s next fight is not Joshua most likely it would mean that he relinquished his WBO title to avoid facing Usyk. And of course, Usyk would prefer to challenge the vacant WBO Heavyweight title versus the highest available opponent designated by the sanctioning body,” Krassyuk said.
According to him, Usyk's next fight should happen either in March or in April.
Meanwhile, British promoter Eddie Hearn is already engaged in the organization of bout between Usyk and Dereck Chisora. The O2 Arena in London has already been booked as a venue for a potential heavyweight showdown.
As we reported earlier, lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury does not seem happy about Usyk's position as WBO mandatory challenger, as he directed a tweet towards WBO President Paco Valcarcel, who suggested the Gypsy King face Uzbeki prospect Bakhodir Jalolov, GiveMeSport informed.
“Maybe if you had not removed me from number 1 ranked WBO! And put some cruiserweight bum with 1 fight at heavyweight then you could have a say! Haha,” Fury wrote.
Ukrainian boxer was subtle in his reaction: he posted a 'story' on his Instagram page with a short text in it - "Tyson, do not cry. #1 WBO".
