WBC and IBF light-heavyweight world champion Artur Beterbiev (15-0, 15 KOs) stated on his Instagram page that he was honored to fight against Oleksandr Gvozdyk (17-1, 14 KOs), Xsport reports.
“I would like to thank Oleksandr Gvozdyk for a great fight on Friday. Your punches were strong, you showed the whole world how real champions fight.
You put everything into this fight, it was an honor for me to fight you,” Beterbiev emphasized.
As we reported earlier, a unifying battle for the WBC and IBF light-heavyweight titles between Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk and Russian fighter Artur Beterbiev took place in the USA, on October 18.
As the East Side Boxing reports, Beterbiev knocked down Gvozdyk three times in the 10th, as the referee Gary Rosato immediately stopped the fight following the third knockdown.
Beterbiev (15-0, 15 KOs) was behind on two of the three judges’ scorecards at the time of the stoppage.
