The International Olympic Committee will discuss the dismissal of not only athletes from Russia, but the entire team of the country from the Olympic Games in Rio, writes Spiegel-Online, citing sources in the Olympic Committee.
Meeting of the Heads of National Olympic Committees is scheduled for June 21 in Lausanne, and there may be discussed the tougher measures against the Russian Federation at the forthcoming Olympic Games in Rio, up to dismissal of the entire team from the participation in the games.
On the other hand the annual summit in Lausanne is not valid according to the IOC charter, in which the meeting is not listed. It was established by the current head of the IOC Thomas Bach to discuss in an informal setting the agenda of the Olympic world. The publication writes that the head of the IOC remains on friendly terms with President Vladimir Putin, who in 2013 came up with the support of the Bach's appointment to the post.
