The International Olympic Committee (IOC) did not let Russian biathlete Anton Shypulin and skier Sergei Ustyugov participate in the upcoming Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

‘These athletes like Viktor An, Anton Shypulin or Sergei Ustyugov were not involved in the proceedings within Oswald’s commission or in any other doping-related stories; all probes they had proved they were clean’, said Stanislav Pozdynakov, the first vice president of Russia’s Olympic Committee. ‘Nevertheless, their names are not on the list of potential participants in the Games. We’ve been upholding the principle that all ‘clean’ athletes should have the right to participate. Unfortunately the IOC did not include many leading Russian athletes in the list we received recently.’
