"A plan was to keep Beterbiev at the distance, but it did not work out. The preparation was aimed at not letting him hit me. Probably, I was not ready for the pressure that he started putting on me, and when you are pressured something must be done: you either run or you go forward,” Gvozdyk said.

I would like to have an elimination bout, and after that – I would meet the winner of the bout between Eleider Alvarez and Joe Smith Jr.,” he said.

As we reported earlier, the unification bout between Vasyl Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez will be postponed due to the outbreak of the Covid-2019 coronavirus.

According to Bob Arum, Vasyl's promoter, there is no sense in holding this bout without spectators.

If there is no spectators, that goes off the table, so what the f**k can you do except go to the fighters and explain the situation, that, ‘If you want to fight, you fight in a studio and your purse has got to be adjusted’," he added.
