Vasyl Lomachenko will finally face Teofimo Lopez Jr. in a lightweight barnburner scheduled for October 17. The Ukrainian fighter shared his thoughts on his opponent's recent statements and talked a bit on his aspirations in professional boxing, Sky Sports reports.
"Fans love the interesting fights with top fighters. Now we have a unification and we are the top fighters in this weight class. It was my goal when I started my pro career. It was always my dream. I did 126lbs, I tried 130lbs, now I try 135lbs and it is very close," Lomachenko said.
He also promised to inflict a lot of pain on Lopez Jr. if the opportunity presented itself.
"I am definitely not going to feel sorry for him. If I get a chance to cause him pain, I am going to do it," the unified champion added.
As we reported earlier, IBF lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez Jr. stated that he would not feel any remorse after knocking Lomachenko out.
"That is just it. I do not personally like the guy. When that day comes when we fight, I cannot wait. I cannot wait to knock his head off and that is just that," he claimed.
