WBC light heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk (17-0, 14 KOs) speaks about working with Teddy Atlas in the training camp before unification bout with IBF titleholder Artur Beterbiev (14-0, 14 KOs), Xsport reports.

“I enjoy working with Teddy Atlas,” Gvozdyk said.

“He’s extremely demanding, but it suits me. The training camp was very difficult, but there is no other option. We have developed a plan; we are ready to beat Beterbiev. What is it like working with Teddy? Sometimes it even seems like he is nitpicking. Sometimes it seems that you have no energy at all. And he will not tolerate any disputes or disagreements. But he really knows what you need”, he explained.

After being asked about Atlas’ personality, Gvozdyk answered: “He looks like a dinosaur. Good guy, he is more of an endangered breed. He is a professional, intelligent, experienced. More than 40 years in boxing. And he is very good in terms of human qualities. But most of all I admire his attention to the smallest details”.

“What are my intentions? I want to become the undisputed champion. And I want to fight the best of the best, those the fans want to see me in the ring with. And this could be problematic. I don’t want to think ahead. Everything is possible in the future, but so far I have a fight against Beterbiev. And then everything is possible, even a change of weight division. But now I’m definitely not up to it”.

As we reported earlier, the boxing bout between Oleksandr Gvozdyk and Artur Beterbiev will take place on October 18, in Philadelphia
