International Biathlon Union informed that four Russian biathletes were likely to commit anti-doping violations, as Radio Svoboda reports.
The representatives of the Union did not give specific names, did not provide information concerning the alleged violations and did not indicate the events those four biathletes participated in.
Russian Biathlon Union informed that three of four accused have finished their career, and one more is not summoned to the national team.
The representatives of the Russian union added that they could name the athletes officially 14 days after they are told about the alleged violations.
According to the Russian media, Svetlana Sleptsova, former Champion among juniors, Alexander Chernyshev and Yevgeny Ustiugov, the Champion of the Olympic mass start in 2010, are among those biathletes.
Ustiugov stated on Championat.com the following: “I don’t know anything about it. Why these suspicions are announced now, four years after the career was over?”.
Earlier, Russian sportsmen performed at Olympics 2018 under a neutral flag as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided due to the doping scandal.
