Oleksandr Zinchenko and Andriy Yarmolenko enjoyed the victories of their teams in the English FA Premier League and German Bundesliga. Both players successfully performed in the last weekend’s official games.
Zinchenko actually debuted with Man City in the League Cup game; the manager Josep Guardiola showed a good deal of understanding of the young midfielder’s aspirations, letting him play the entire game against Wolverhampton. As the Citizens and the Wolves played a draw in the full time, the Ukrainian appeared to be one of those of the initial line-up who continued into the extra time. Zinchenko played as the left back, which is quite unusual for him, but he still put up a good debut. In the penalty shootout, Man City beat Wolverhampton 4-1.
Ukraine’s playmaker Andriy Yarmolenko appeared in Borussia’s starting eleven against Magdeburg. The German cup fixture ended up in an impressive 5-0 win for his team. At first, Yarmolenko assisted his teammates in scoring two of the five goals; then, he himself scored one after the spot kick.
