Yevhen Seleznev, the forward of Ukraine's national team became the hero of the finale of Super Cup of Turkey; the game between Akhisar and Galatasaray took place on Sunday.
Akhisar, the current holder of Turkish Cup, went for a quick attack on the opponent's goals, putting heavy pressure; so Galatasaray allowed a goal from Seleznev early in the first half. Seleznev's team could have easily won the game, but Galatasaray's Derdiyok equalized briefly before the final whistle.
It all ended up in a penalty series, where Seleznev also scored - this time from the spot. His goal sealed the trophy's fate, as Akhisar won in the shootout (4-5).
In December 2016, Seleznev, the forward of Shakhtar Donetsk and Ukraine’s national team, switched clubs. The Ukrainian signed in with Turkish team, Karabükspor FC. Then, he changed the team again and joined Akhisar Belediyespor.
Earlier, we reported that Manchester City FC accepted the offer made by Wolverhampton, which is eager to buy the Ukrainian midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko. However, the midfielder said he wanted to stay with the Citizens.
