The UEFA Champions League trophy holder and the bronze medallist of Spanish La Liga, Real Madrid signed the contract with Ukraine's Andriy Lunin, the goalkeeper of the national team and Zorya Luhansk FC. Elbernabeu reported this on Wednesday.
According to the outlet, the transfer sum made 9 million Euros, with 4.4 million more as bonuses paid to Zorya.
So far, it is unknown when Lunin joins his new squad; it is expected, however, that Real will rent him to another team.
Andriy Lunin proved his worth last season when he played for Dnipro FC until the football club gone bankrupt. After that, the goalkeeper joined Zorya; he appeared in 29 games, losing 41 goals. Considered one of the best goalkeepers in Ukraine, he was summoned to the national team, where he so far has played in two games.
Previously, the sports media announced that Julen Lopetegui will be chairing Real Madrid in the new season. His predecessor Zinedine Zidane resigned almost immediately after winning the main trophy of UEFA Champions League.
