As Manchester City enjoy the champions title in the FA Premier League, Ukraine's Oleksandr Zinchenko says he still wonders how it feels to the number one in the top league of the British football. He gave an interview for Match TV, the Ukrainian sports outlet.
'I would like to thank all fans who supported me. People congratulate us from all over the world, which feels really nice. Of course, I'm still getting used to this champion of England thing. In fact, I learned about it sitting in the airport, and I celebrated it with a coffee... We've got a training session on Wednesday. We should keep up the spirit for the remaining five rounds. Our fans deserve that. Of course, we'd prefer to become champions in front of our own fans, but it happened the way it happened. I'm very glad and I do hope it's just the beginning,' he said.
Last weekend, Manchester City became champions in the FA Premier League, as their closest opponents, Manchester United lost to West Bromwich Albion; thus the intrigue in the final race in this competition disappeared.
Oleksandr Zinchenko, the midfielder of Ukraine's national team, signed the deal with Man City in summer 2017. He debuted in December 2017, gradually gaining his place on the pitch - as well as the attention of the local press.
