Head coach of the Ukrainian national football team Andriy Shevchenko will hold a press conference on October 23, where he will present a report on the work done with the team. This was reported by the press service of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU).
In the coaching staff of the "blue-yellow" they want to analyze the performance of our football players in the qualifying cycle for the 2018 World Cup. Shevchenko also intends to outline his strategy for the development of the team.
Shevchenko led the team in July 2016 and held a full qualifying round for the World Cup 2018, following which Ukraine took the third place in Group I and lost the opportunity to compete for a ticket to the tournament through the play-offs.
In total, under the leadership of the 41-year-old specialist, "blue-yellow" had 12 matches, of which six they won, two reduced to a draw and four lost at goal difference 15:10. The contract between the coach and FFU was signed according to the "2 + 2" scheme, that is, it can be ontinued for another two years in 2018.
Earlier it was reported that on October 9, the Ukrainian team held the decisive battle in the qualifying tournament of the 2018 World Cup and, by its results, lost all chances to become a participant of the World Cup.
