The UEFA Champions League third qualifying round draw took place on Monday, July 19 at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.
Shakhtar will play against Belgian Genk. Last season, they finished second in the Pro League, scoring as many points as Brugge, but losing to them in personal terms.
Matches are due to take place on 3/4 and 10 August, with extra time and a penalty shoot-out if required after the second leg. Winners advance to the UEFA Champions League play-offs (drawn on 2 August).
Meanwhile, Ukraine's Association of Football and the Association of Beach Football of Ukraine have forbidden the national beach football team to perform at the World Cup in Moscow.
Last week, Ukrainians finished second in the European qualification for the World Cup in Portugal. It became one of the four teams from Europe that enjoyed the right to play in that competition.
16 teams will participate in the World Cup; the draw ceremony will take place in Zurich on July 8.
