Marlos, the Brazilian midfielder of Shakhtar Donetsk and Ukraine's national team announced the end of his international career. Press office of the team reported that on Thursday, August 19.
"I'm leaving the national team of Ukraine. It's a sad thing to tell but it's time to do so. A few people might know that I have certain physical problems and limitations related to the surgery that I had before; they wouldn't let me play as much as I'd love to. I would like to say thank you to everyone who gave me this chance four years ago - to be a Ukrainian and play for the national team. I am grateful to President of Ukrainian Association of Football Andriy Pavelko and ex-manager Andriy Shevchenko for their support and trust. I am thankful for all of my partners in the team; you guys became a real football family for me, my friends on and beyond the pitch, and you will remain forever. And, of course, I am grateful for all supporters of the national team of Ukraine", Marlos said.
The Brazilian played 16 matches for Ukraine's national team, scoring one goal and two assists.
