The decision was motivated by the hostile attitude towards the mentor by fans of the Kyiv club. Lucescu's statement has already appeared in the Romanian press.
"I am grateful to the Surkis family for their trust and this invitation, but I will not be able to work in an atmosphere of hostility, especially from the ultras, whose support is so necessary for the team," Lucescu stated.
The attitude of the fans is triggered by the fact that Lucescu was heading Shakhtar Donetsk FC for 12 years (in 2004-2016).
As we reported earlier, on July 20, the management of Dynamo Kyiv FC dismissed Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko from the post of the team's head coach.
Oleksiy Mykhailychenko headed Dynamo Kyiv through the course of the season, replacing Oleksandr Khatskevych. Under Mykhailychenko's leadership, the Kyivites won the Ukrainian Cup and took second place in the Ukrainian championship.
