Football: KRC Genk, Ukraine's Malynovsky become champions of Belgium

A 1-1 tie with Anderlecht was enough for Genk to claim the title

Ukrainian footballer Ruslan Malynovsky, the midfielder of KRC Genk celebrated victory in the national championship. In Round 9 of 10 of the Jupiler Pro League, Belgium's top-level football championship, Genk played a 1-1 draw against Anderlecht. It was enough for the home team to claim the title one round before the end of the season.

Malynovsky spent all 90 minutes on the pitch. As KRC Genk celebrated the championship for the fourth time in its history, it was also the first time since the 2010/2011 season - and the very first champion title for Malynovsky. The Ukrainian midfielder scored 16 goals in 51 games and performed 16 assists.

Recently, another Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko became the champion of England, as Manchester City triumphed in the FA Premier League fourth time in a row.
