Ukraine's national football team is to play a friendly with Czechs. The game will kick off at Doosan Arena in Plzen city at 9.45 p.m. Kyiv time.
The debut of Oleksandr Petrakov as the main coach of the national team proved ambiguous; a draw against Kazakhstan complicated things for the Yellow Blues. But then, a draw against France followed. Ukraine put up a decent fight against the world champions. So now, the newly appointed acting manager can breathe out and let his team play in a calmer way.
On the other hand, Ukrainian football supporters expect the team to win. The national squad has played five draws in a row, which could put a tremendous load of psychological pressure on the players. Perhaps, Petrakov can give some of the young talents a try.
Last month, the Ukrainian Association of Football confirmed the appointment of Oleksandr Petrakov as Acting Coach of the national football team. Press office of the Association reported that on August 18. Petrakov will be working with the Yellow Blues until Serhiy Rebrov is available and becomes the full-time head coach; currently, he is coaching the Al Ain FC from the UAE.
