Pierluigi Collina, the renowned football judge broke the contract with the Federation of Football of Ukraine, UA Football reported. He did not attend the early training sessions of Ukrainian referees; he skipped the tests, briefings and seminars.

A source close to the Federation maintains Collina used his opportunity, which lets him cease any cooperation with the Federation without any compensation. The referee passed his authority to his deputy Luciano Lucci.

Pierluigi Collina has chaired the Referee Corps of Ukraine since 2010. Thanks to his efforts, female referees began to serve in the Ukrainian Professional Football League; women also started to serve more frequently in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League games, as well as in the fixtures between national teams.
